Poor Laurier

... poor Greg and vomit- they go hand in hand like cheating and Italian soccer- zing! John, man, even after eating too much pizza that other night and being sick after that... but ya that was a pretty nasty story there Greg. Hope John's ok though. But at least you learned two lessons- don't drink or eat too much (I said that in my other comment!) That'd suck though- being banned from a university. I guess it was just a bad day. Anyways I've learned some disturbing things about Europeans: they're not a big fan of showering. My roommate showers like once a week and I try to avoid going near his room (the smell kinda builds up and he doesn't open the window). And I don't know how often he brushes his teeth as well. But ya its kinda bad. And I don't want to say anything about it because I don't want to insult his ways (those Italians- I think the French are the same as well). Ya its not that fun. Anyways university is still the same. More homework, less time. Kinda screwed but I'll hopefully pull through. Can't wait until January (24!) and my friend found a way to download and he likes 24 so I'm set! Anyways, drinking is not bad when its consumed responsibly. But then again as we're in university it is kinda our jobs to screw around. So ya there's a fair argument for both sides. Anywho, blog to ya soon.

The time has come...

Right now its 6:24 in England so that means its 1:24 in the eastern time zone in Canada. In officially 25 hours and 36 minutes the trailer for season 6 of 24 will be available online at www.24trailer.com. I expect all 24 fans to be on that website as soon as the trailer comes out. You will be able to actually watch the 6th season as well. But ya I don't have satellite over here so ya so much for that. I'll get it when I come back. Anyways ya nothing much has changed. Tonnes of homework, no time. That's university in a nutshell. But Bath is one of the more relaxed and quiet universities. My cousin in Manchester goes out drinking and whatnot every night. What a life...

the worst day of my life

so this is a story of the worst day of my life. it was actually on the 12th of october. about a week ago. but it all started the day before. so here we go...

now that i'm in mac we had a clubfest a while back and i signed up to all sorts of different things which i thought were interesting. one of these was the DRAGON BOAT TEAM!!!!! i know, eh, mad exciting. so ya on the wednesday of the 11th they had a social night where people went to boston pizza for the all you can eat pizza night. which was only 13 dollars. which is kinda like the same prise as that british all you can eat thing dhiren was talking about, except that its canadian dollars not pound sterling. which reminds me of a funny joke about pounds, dollars, and russian roubles. i think i'll tell it before i go on.

whats the mathematical ratio between pounds, dollars, and roubles?

A pound of roubles equals 1 dollar. (tadun tshch) *drums*

ok so anyway, i'm there meeting new people and someone blurts out, we should all eat 1 pizza to get our money's worth. and of course i'm always one to get my money's worth. and i never back out of an eating challenge and i'm like hell ya. so i eat and eat and keep stuffing myself and by the time i get to the 6th slice i'm not feeling well. but tell myself, only 4 more to go and i grab another one and eat it. by the 7th though i definitely gave up, but then some guy came out of nowhere and was like i'm having my 7th now and i'm gonna catch up to you. and again i couldn't let that happen so i started my 8th to make sure this guy wouldn't come close to my record. however i couldn't finish it and the guy did finish his 8th. so i got left in second place. and then later that night when i slept i musta gotten cold and caught some bug cuz in the morning i felt mad sick. my stomach was killing me and i was hitting my head against the wall for eating so much pizza the day before. the really bad thing about it was that the next day i was supposed to write my chem midterm and with my stomach hearting all day long i couldn't concentrate hard enough to study. eventually i felt better but not after i threw up a couple of times. next 2 days i didn't eat anything, not cuz i didn't want to, but i just wasn't hungry. mad weird shit. basically i went 3 days, cuz i didn't eat on the day i felt sick either, without eating after stuffing myself with almost 8 slices of pizza the night before. so basically, i've learned my lesson, and from now on, i'm not gonna do that again. and you shouldn't either. its kind of like kick the 2 can song by cheminem, except instead of kicking a can of ammonium, its overeating pizza.

Umm... we need more posts!

So ya we haven't kept up with the whole blogging-ness- maybe because many have switched over to spend more time on *cough* facebook *cough*. And we all know who they are... hahaha. So ya my eating schedule is so messed up now because of university. Stupid university. Well its mostly lunch. I've been eating it at like 1:30-2:00 now but then I think I'm skipping tea time now as well (ironic how tea time stopped when I came to England). But ya this is all I have to say. Its like university have achieved that routine state where each week becomes the same and everyday is just like the last. Oh well. They don't go out to the town or clubs or pubs that often anymore. It was just a frosh week thing I guess. It costs a lot too to go out every night and stuff. And I'm finally starting to feel all the homework build up- and its not that fun. It sucks knowing you have so much homework to do. And ya I have some more ranting to do here about how much it costs to live in England. Yesterday my flat mates ordered a pizza and wings and had it delivered but it cost 14 pounds. And it was a medium sized pizza! That's over 30$ for a pizza and a few wings! Like what the hell?!!? And there's a buffet thing at some indian restaurant and it costs 15 pounds. That's like 35$!!! What?!?! Its insane. If you're trying to save money this is the last place you'd wanna be. If you don't want to spend money then you can't do anything here. I keep on converting the prices and then I'm like damn that's expensive. This country is so annoying! But the university is nice. Nice indeed. And what's with Buffalo and Minnesota doing so well?! 9-1 win over the Flyer?!!? I leave to go to england and the whole NHL turns upside down. Ottawa sucks and the Leafs are doing well?!?! My goodness. I need some updates too guys. Whose like the new crazy no. 1 draft for this year (the Crosby of this season) And whose team is he on? I don't feel like following soccer here. I have too much catching up to do since I'm still living in the days when Man United had Peter Shemichael and Eric Cantona. Those were the days... those were the days...

l'université

I kinda left the blog with a cliffhanger- well not really but I like to think so. So ya university, or l'université (note the proper use of accents) since I'm doing french. The first few days were a bit hard at first with the whole settling in and all that jazz. Like we came to the university, dropped off all of my stuff then I was all alone. I had some induction meeting that I had to attend but I didn't talk to anyone during it. I just sat there not even making an attempt to meet new people. But it was really hard when you're all on your own. Anyways I was mad at myself for not doing anything so I decided to use the next 'gathering' to meet some new people. That was a bbq that was later on that evening- the brits suck at bbq's by the way. So ya I met this guy Joe there and we were like best friends for the first few days. Like we went to Bath and whatnot and hung around and stuff and we kinda built up a small group of friends. But then once everyone else in our flats moved in (we didn't live in the same building) we kinda stopped hanging around but we still talk and stuff. But ya I then had to make new friends with my room mates and stuff. They're really cool and its easy to get along with them. Frosh Week was a lotta fun. Like any university, there's a lotta drinking and partying. We got to try out some sports and things like that so that was nice. One night I drank too much and that kinda sucked but ya I've eased off and ya its not so bad now. But! I think I'm done drinking coke and pop because I think the caffeine has too much of an effect on me since everytime I have pop it takes like a few hours to go to sleep (last time I went to bed at 1:00 but didn't go sleep until 5:00- not fun). So ya school started last Monday and it seems ok. Mostly review at first but then after the first 6 weeks everyone is saying that it'll get much harder. My schedule sucks since I have three 8:15 starts and 2 9:15 starts so not much time to sleep in or anything but I generally wake up early so that's ok. Hmm... I think that's about it. Oh ya! I have a cell phone even though I kept saying that I'll never give in and get one. But I rarely use it so ya its all good. And I saw my first rugby match- we lost to Oxford but we're still one of the top universities for sports though overall. So ya that was still a lotta fun though. It was a bit chilly though since our university, despite being in the south, is on top of a hill so we get a lotta wind and rain and rubbish weather. But other than that its all good. Good indeed.

Is it just me or did this post just get British-er. Anyways yes this is I, Dhiren, reporting straight outta' Bath. Well where shall I begin? I would have pictures excpet I don't have a camera and so you guys get to use your imagination. So ya from the beginning I guess. I arrived in England on the 7th of September- I think- and ya that was alright. Air Canada has certainly stepped it up a notch since last I flew (but then again that was with some cheap charter airline) with better meals (they had gelato!) and decent movies. Fortunately I brought my laptop on the plane with me so I was able to catch in a few episodes of 24- season 5. I stayed at my grandparents house for the first few weeks and that was, needless to say, not the most exciting few weeks of my life. They didn't have internet and their satellite only consisted of the indian channels and so TV didn't provide a solution to boredom. I know some family friends who lived really close so I was at their house most of the time. The town is quite small and there's a market that's open everyday of the week so I found myself wandering around there for quite some time. My family in England have been really helpful with taking me around and stuff so that was good. I went to Manchester one day and that's a really nice city- I always had the idea that it was crap. But ya the cities in England seem to be more walking-friendly than Canada since Canada is so big. So its nice to be able to take a short train into the city and being able to walk everywhere rather than taking the subway or car. Anyways I went to my grandma's (mom's side) house as well in Coventry. That was pretty much the same deal. So lets skip all of this business and jump to university. Its fun.

Commencement!

so mad recap of stuff gooing on. i don't even remember anymore when but i went home a whle back. oh man, going home for the weekend was a pure waste of time. i thought i'd do some good reading up and studying when instead i ended up spending half my time there playing Madden. and i was supposed to hang out with greg and completely forgot. i'm sorry man. but Madden. i finished like half a season and 1 playoff game. anyway, my family moved last weekend. so officially i'm no longer a bramptonian. i belong to mississauga now. so in the argument of brampton vs mississauga, mississauga now wins cuz i live in it.
in other news, i locked myself out of my room after taking a shower, so i had to go outside in flip flops and a towel and knock on my landlord's door to come and open the door for me. don't need to say anymore.
has anyone talked to dhiren recently? that guys like completely disappeared except for the one email he sent to everyone. i tried emailing him back but he didn't even reply. that damn nazi!
anyway, commencement tomorrow. hope to see lots of familiar faces. i hope we get hats to throw in the air, but i'm told thats just a myth. either way it should be fun. das foote shall reunite minus dhiren. that damn nazi!
anyway, gotta go sleep now, its 2 am and i've got an 8:30 bio lab in the morning. peace out.
